We went on a 90 min walking tour of this lovely place, so steeped in history. Our guide, Chris, was friendly, had a lovely manner and was so knowledgeable. She didn't bamboozle us with dates etc. I would highly recommend a walking tour - you don't actually walk very far, as Cambridge is so compact and the time flies.

Matt is the best. He is an experienced and trusty tour guide. He is very knowledgable about English history and geography. I am also very impressed by his clear and beautiful pronunciation, which guarantees that you can understand all the fascinating stories and fun rumours. The tour is always carefully planned and safely delivered. It is quite comfortable and engaging traveling with a small group. Highly recommended!
So so SO worth paying for a guided tour! Matt is an obvious Anglophile and his passion for British history shows in his tour lectures. Comfortable and safe journey too! Plan on doing another one!

The largest fair in Europe was held here way back when. Now it's a large open common. A bit more wild than midsummer common. Can get boggy on wet days. Feels like you're out in the country, especially with the herd of cows milling around. There's a nice children's playground in one corner and it's nice to sit by the river
It's a nice area where you can go for a relaxing walk... Unless training rowers shout a lot on the river 😉

A great little pub with a back garden and an area across the road on the river side, great for summer evenings. In winter there is a very large fire going that's too hot to sit by. Top selection of Greene King ales and guest beers, friendly staff and management servings the community. Nice flower baskets display.
Great drinks and pretty good food. What let this place down was the main staff member. It's advertised as food all day, but due to the bank holiday weekend, they had shut the kitchen for a few hours (far enough). When a customer asked about why this was the case, the staff member behind the bar snapped saying "everyone needs a break!". What this place needs is better management to ensure enough staff to give people breaks and continue service. This place could've been packed in the lovely sunshine, but instead people just walked out rather than wait in line for the one staff member to serve everyone while the dirty glasses began to fill the bar
