Holiday Inn Cambridge

Lakeview, Bridge Rd, Impington, Cambridge CB24 9PH, UK – 0871 942 9015

I stayed the one night as part of a transient work crew. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and I enjoyed the garden in the inner cloister of the hotel. I was given a room, which while clean, lacked a few sensible features. The provided kettle, for instance, couldn't plug into the wall outlet it was situated next to due incompatible plug inlets. The open window lacked a screen and my room was company to giant flying insects upon my return in the evening. I also would have preferred a top sheet and not just a duvet to sleep under, though it was weather appropriate. Overall, I think the employees take pride in their work but management could improve the value of the lodging.

Lovely rooms, friendly staff. Restaurant food well cooked but specials board would be good. Lovely pool. Individual changing rooms would be good, especially when children and adults changing together

Premier Inn Cambridge A14 J32

Ring Fort Rd, Cambridge CB4 2GW, UK – 0871 527 8186

A good night sleep the hotel right by the A14, we had a room at the back and if you sleep with the window open you could hear the traffic. Food was good can not complain about the meals. There was to many work vans there in the car park at the back there was over 15 vans, and some more at the front, one even work van parked in a disabled spot taking up the disabled space. There was only about 18 parking places at the back .

This hotel is OK. The staff are mostly friendly if a little inexperienced. Rooms are OK, a little on the small side and not the cleanest Premier Inn Ive been in. The additional tea and coffee rations in the front enterance is a nice touch. Restaurant is typical premier inn style with a decent menu and its well cooked. The breakfast is just about OK, though I would have liked more fresh fruits and non meat options. Compared to other Inns the breakfast wasnt great to be honest. Overall its decent, does the job, but lacks some of the refinement Ive found in other Premier Inns in the UK.

Hotel Felix

Whitehouse Ln, Huntingdon Rd, Girton, Cambridge CB3 0LX, UK – 01223 277977

Very nice hotel, very well run and the food at dinner and breakfast was fantastic. We would like to thank the restaurant manager for reacting to a sudden influx of guests for breakfast by opening up another area almost instantly, that shows experience with his finger on the pulse.

Fantastic quiet location , I’ve been to the Felix hotel on many occasions and I have always been treated as an individual. Pleasant staff that really welcome you. Wonderful food, beautifuly maintained grounds

53 Carlton Way, Cambridge CB4 2DF, UK – 01223 367422

Went there with a friend on the way back to our hotel after a day visiting Cambridge. Cute little pub. Good if you'd like some typical bar food and drinks.

First time visit to try the carvery. Great choice of beautifully cooked meat's. Plenty of fresh lovely side's. The staff where very helpful and friendly. I can't wait to go back. Come on Sunday, hurry up.

Carpenters Arms Restaurant and Bar

184-186 Victoria Rd, Cambridge CB4 3DZ, UK – 01223 367050

Update: now fully renovated and under new management, the change is night and day. Well kept beer and extremely high quality food. Easily bumped to a four star and may verge into five if it keeps the standard high. Previous review: Popped in for a drink last night. There are awards up which imply that the food here is probably of high quality but we didn't try any. Comfortable enough and the beer was OK but in a city of stunning beer keeping, being kept OK means the food better be good. The interior was nice enough with a sort of "faded chic" which one only gets after careful effort to look effortless. I imagine you'd know within 5 minutes of walking in if it's your "thing".

Ate here for a family meal pre wedding. Excellent service, fantastic food, amazing selection of drinks. I would highly recommend eating here. Pizza made in a traditional pizza oven. Helpings a good size. I can highly recommend eating here. The staff made the evening and we even got live music.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Rosa's B & B

53 Roseford Rd, Cambridge CB4 2HA, UK – 01223 512596

Very cosy, warm and clean. Rosa is warm and welcoming and offers a five star breakfast. I arrived on a cold evening and was shown into a warm well lit cosy room. Would definitely stay there again

Arriving at 1830hrs on a Friday I was warmly welcomed by Rosa, and shown to my room. The single room was spotlessly clean, and included a television and free wifi. As the only guest that evening I had exclusive use of the adjacent bathroom, which had a powerful shower and all the usual shampoo, shower gel etc expected in a first class hotel. Breakfast was delicious, including Rosa's special fruit dish, plus a hot meal and cereal is available if requested. The B&B is just a 2 minute drive from the A14, and sited near Histon Road, a main bus route to the city centre. I have now stayed four times at Rosa's on my annual visits to Cambridge, and can unreservedly recommend it for excellent accommodation, and the skilled and friendly hospitality or Rosa.

Harry's Bed and Breakfast

Really excellent little B&B. Room and breakfast were great! As is the location.

We were really enjoy about this bed and breakfast ! The host was so kind, very listening... thank you so much to her. It was such the best time that we had together on Cambridge. We also had access on bikes. Thanks.

Very attentive owner. Great breakfast offered. Walking distance of city centre. Clean comfortable room. Relaxing stay

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
