Local Food and Drink

Daily Bread Co-operative

Unit 3, Kilmaine Cl, Cambridge CB4 2PH, UK – 01223 423177

I just love the smell of spices when you open the door and walk into the shop. It immediately makes you think of lovely food from all around the world! That's something I look forward to every time I visit. I do try not to come too often, because I always end up spending more than I planned. This is the shop I go to when I need some special ingredients, when I need good quality spices in bigger packs than you would get in supermarkets, when i need Gluten Free stuff, it's the cheapest place for good quality coconut oil, I come to buy bigger bags of raisins or other dried fruit (and they have most of them without the sulphur as well and the normal ones)bigger bags of nuts and seeds and al the stuff you can't get anywhere else. If I ever move away from Cambridge, this is the one shop that I would miss the most!

This shop is easy to access (usually there's off street free parking around) and the owner is always friendly. They have food from Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine and Romania that you can't find in supermarkets. Pretty cool. :-) we love the frozen aubergine to make a dip.

Awesome shop. Very kind, helpful and honest people. They sell kvas too.

Co-op Food - Histon Road

Histon Rd, Cambridge CB4 3HL, UK – 01223 367927

Efficient, courteous service and the store is generally well-stocked. Very convenient with decent range of fresh and convenience foods. Excellent inexpensive meal deals. Toiletries, basic over-the-counter medicines, newspapers and magazines are supplied. Kiosk sells tobacco, cigarettes, lotto and e-cigarettes. Excellent range of wines. Spirits are also available. Self-service tills are not always reliable.

Good selection. Mostly used as a local shop. But you could do most of weekly shop in there. Free parking outside both in front and rear of shop.
