Dental Surgeries

Hurst Park Dental Practice

2A Hurst Park Ave, Cambridge CB4 2AE, UK – 01223 356765

I had to have quite a lot of dentistry work in 2013. Loose and broken bridges needed to be replaced. Stephen was able to replace the bridges by putting in implants. The temporary dentures were amazing but the implants are brilliant. You cannot tell the difference between the implanted teeth and my real teeth. The colour match is unbelievable. There was no discomfort during the treatment or the healing process. My implants are stillI serving me well. No problems what-so-ever. I cannot praise Stephen highly enough for the standard of his work.....and he plays really good music in the surgery while you are in the chair.

I was referred to the endodontic specialist at Hurst Park Dental Practice with a severe root infection, after having received root canal treatment at a different Dental Practice. Although the delay in referral by my previous dentist had exacerbated the condition, Hurst Park dealt with the problem efficiently, painlessly and effectively. They saved my tooth! What more can I say except a very heartfelt thank you. I would definitely recomment Hurst Park Dental Practice.

Histon Dental Surgery

66 Station Rd, Histon, Cambridge CB24 9LF, UK – 01223 236799

Our experience when visiting this Dental Surgery, after moving from Wales is entirely positive. The reception staff are welcoming and courteous, and the dental experience is much more pleasant than expected.

I have always had great service and treatment at Histon Dental Surgery. Dr Healy has recently fitted two crowns and I am very satisfied with what he has done.

Histon Dental Clinic

10a Station Rd, Histon, Cambridge CB24 9LQ, UK – 01223 566121

A really friendly and professional practice, where there is a very high quality of service. Damian is fantastic with children, young people and adults. Cathy is a marvellous administrator.

While on holidays from Australia and visiting the beautiful city of Cambridge, I required emergency dental treatment. On advice from my friend in Histon, that I should go to the Histon Dental clinic. I contacted the clinic and was greeted by a friendly receptionist; I informed the receptionist of my situation that I was visiting Cambridge and I required emergency dental treatment. The receptionist advised for me to come to the clinic and they would reschedule appointments so that my treatment could commence. On arrival at the clinic, I was seen to straight away by Norah-Marie I was impressed by the high standard of treatment I received, and the customer care that the clinic provided to me. Kind Regards. Martin.

Arbury Surgery

114 Arbury Rd, Cambridge CB4 2JG, UK – 01223 364433

I don't judge the doctor, I judge the NHS system: 'I come with a pressure problem - the doctor doesn't check my blood pressure. I have enlarged lymph nodes - doctor doesn't check this. If not my test proposal - probably I will not get any tests. Why? Because for 10 minutes the doctor has to fight with the computer system. Does anyone think about it at all? 10 minutes is definitely too short for meet with a doctor !'

Milton Surgery

Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital

30 New Rd, Impington, Cambridge CB24 9EL, UK – 01223 266900

Today my partner had a hip operation at spire, I would return if required. The staff were polite and helpful, the service was lovely too. The hostess carol was honestly lovely and so helpful. They provided for me also for very reasonable cost. The room was clean and spacious with an attached bathroom that was clean and tidy. The beds are comfy (as far as hospital beds go) and quite nicely actually featured a real duvet (nicer than that weird blanket thing you get in normal hospital). I would recommend.

Well organised with absolutely wonderful staff. Many thanks to all those who looked after me.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Beefeater Travellers Rest - Cambridge

Huntingdon Rd, Girton, Cambridge CB3 0DL, UK – 01223 276182

A while since we last visited, receiving an email with 40% off main meals tempted us to go for a meal. It was quiet on our arrival, 5.30pm, but soon the bar restaurant filled with customers. A good choice within the menu, not overwhelming, which I appreciate. suits all pockets and appetites Service was very efficient, staff worked well as a team. The bar was well stocked and I noticed a small array of cocktails on the drinks list, good value starting at around £4.50. Will be visiting again sometime soon.

Good place to go. Free car park. Lovely food. Not so expensive. Quiet place. Not crowded with young noisy drunk people. Recommended ☺

Tandoori Palace

68 Histon Rd, Cambridge CB4 3LE, UK – 01223 506055

Friendly staff and a good selection of gluten free menu items. The food was tasty, although did not look the most authentic - but for the price it is hard to complain. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cheap Indian in Cambridge!

Not authentic Indian. Probably a Bangladeshi or Pakistani restaurant. However probably most our British friends feel, what they are eating, is authentic Indian. Unfortunately, that's not true. The preparation is nowhere Indian. The spices doesn't mean add green chillies something which is quite prevalent in UK due to these Bangladeshi chefs who don't know how to cook with spices. Just as an example the Naan (kind of bread) was UTTER nonsense. Probably if you eat a real Naan you will never go here ever. If you are around London and want to know what Indian food really tastes like try going to Mumbai Junction (Harrow) Blue Ginger, Hundred Degrees and many other authentic Indian places. However real check for any real Indian cuisine is 1. Curry will never be sweet! 2. And spicy doesn’t mean adding green chillies! Please remember these two points. I agree initially a proper Indian curry may feel spicy but remember each and every spice really have medicinal values.

Nursery and Preschools

Under Fives Roundabout

Warwick Rd, Cambridge CB4 3HN, UK – 01223 309066

We absolutely love it here. My son is extremely sensitive, especially in unfamiliar environments. I didn't expect him to enjoy going to preschool at all but Roundabout is such a special place and he loved it right from the beginning. I don't think he would've been happy anywhere else! The staff all get to know every child and treat them as individuals. There is always a lovely, warm atmosphere and the children all seem so happy.

Great children meeting from 9.30 -11.30 Friday and Tuesday :) my daughter loves it

Colleges Nursery and Family Centre

Centre Hamilton Rd, Cambridge CB4 2LD, UK – 01223 712168

Colleges Nursery school is a fantastic place and I would recommend it in the warmest terms to anybody. The teachers and staff are experienced, caring and utterly dedicated. They have a real understanding of the age group they work with, and support families in the best possible way. The activities they do are imaginative and ambitious and we are always so impressed by the things our son tells us about: cooking, forest school, crafts, celebrating festivals from many different cultures, etc. The outside space is also really great and has all sorts of different things to do. Our son asks to go to nursery at the weekend sometimes...

Lovely nursery. Staff are friendly and all the children seem happy. They have a good mentality to looking after children which was a primary reason for choosing them for my son. My only issue is that the site is not big enough, in my opinion, for a young child to grow up. With that side, they have done wonders with the space and activities they can do in the site.

Milton Road Primary School

Ascham Rd, Cambridge CB4 2BD, UK – 01223 712333

My son has absolutely thrived at Milton Road. We love this school! We moved to Cambridge for only a single school term, worried that our son would have a rough transition to a new school. But, from Day 1 the teachers and the other students were incredibly welcoming. My son has been happier here then we've ever seen before. He was able to immediately join after-school activities, even though it was late in the school year. We adore his teacher and the atmosphere of empathy and kindness that this school fosters.

My daughters have been happy and stimulated in Milton Road Primary. The new headteacher Mr Catchpool is fun, charismatic and inspiring. He is making a real impact on this school for the benefits of the kids.
